1. Liz Lemon & Jack Donaghy (30 Rock)
No they're not a couple but they are better than that, they're best representation of best friends I've seen on TV. They are both ridiculous and share so many adventures with each other and quieter moments too. They know each other so well, it transcends the conventional 'couple' status. Plus they are both capable of messing up and admitting to each other - while being hilarious.
2. Ben & Leslie (Parks & Recreation)
I've noticed in reading other's posts that P&R couples are favourites. I think this is because not only is the show brilliantly written but everyone is 'nice'. No nasty people lurking, main characters anyway. Ben and Leslie are an adorable couple who saw, hate saying this, blossom so it felt realistic and just so right!
3. Katniss & Peeta (The Hunger Games)
They survived two games together and we all know that these two are meant to be (trying not to spoil it for the non-readers here). They make a team, they complete each other, should I go on? They are just a great couple. Forget Gale. He's super lame.
4. FitzSimmons (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D)
In season one this one would seem blindingly obvious but in season two so far, I have not been satisfied with the severe lack of FitzSimmons moments. Hoping that will all turn around when it returns to the screens. These are brilliant, not so obvious at the start apart from that they are lifelong friends who are revealed throughout the series to share a bond. Don't break it Marvel or I'll harm the lot of you!
5. Tim & Daisy (Spaced)
This is probably one for the UK, unless it did reach the states. An amazing non traditional 'sitcom' written by the two actors, Jessica Hynes and Simon Pegg, directed by Edgar Wright. This once in a generation TV show was made before they 'all got famous'. Brilliant friendship that didn't go further than that, but as loyal followers know, there was always 'something' there and as revealed in a documentary, Tim & Daisy would have eventually got together, in thier own time, as it should be.
Special mention: Fry & Leela or Fry & Bender (Futurama)
Couldn't pick between the two groupings. One a strange and bizarre relationship that eventually headed in the right direction, the other a bizarre and sometimes meaningful 'bromance', even though I'm sure Bender would not admit.
OH MY WORD. Tim and Daisy! Yes! And I love that little "something" from the show documentary. So perfect.
ReplyDeleteFitzSimmona! *sobs loudly and uncontrollably*
ReplyDeleteFitzSimmons FTW! I mean they are even referred to by a ship name in the show. These two have to end up together!
ReplyDeleteTim and Daisy were the best! Fitzsimmons were so great in season 1 and I'm really missing those fun little moments between them now I hope they find a way to at least mend that great friendship they had as it was one of the things I enjoyed the most about the show xoxo
ReplyDelete♥ Cateaclysmic ♥
I always wanted a 3rd series but I think the fact that they just gave us that moment I'm ok with the fact that they never did or will :)
ReplyDeleteI know right! It's get me every time they're on screen. Especially apart :(
ReplyDeleteTotally agree! I'm really hoping that happens, even if it takes a while, it should be done right. Give the fans what they want!
ReplyDeleteExactly! It's those little moments that I tuned in for. Feeling a tad cheated at the moment by the show, just hoping it all gets mended in this half of season 2, not long to wait!
ReplyDeleteBAHHHH I'm the worst futurama fan for not picking that ship! LUVS!! x
ReplyDeleteExcellent couples list boo. Yay, Ben & Leslie and fitzsimmons especially :) x
ReplyDeleteAha! They didn't quite make top 5 but they deserved a special mention, Freela or Leely, but I'm sure there are better ship names out there for them :)
ReplyDeleteThanks boo! Gotta have FitzSimmons, they already have a couple name! And Ben & Leslie are just so darn awesome! x
ReplyDeleteJack and Liz are perfect! I was so close to adding them to my list as well. Great picks and special mention - I think some of the best Futurama episodes were Fry and Leela-centric ones (and what's not love about Bender?) :)
ReplyDeleteAh Bender, I suppose there is love from him, especially in the episode where he's a ghost. I still need to catch up with Futurama last season. Can't get enough of Jack and Liz!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm afraid I'm another recommending it, its such a great show. It's on its final season so I suggest a marathon watch :)
ReplyDeleteSpaced made it to the US through Netflix. I watched (most) of the show, and I thought it was hilarious! I loved Daisy and Tim, and you reminded me that I should probably finish the show :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent! YES! watch finish the show, the finale is great, showdowns, boomboxes, dramatics, its all there. Lucky its on Netflix, its not even on the UK on :)
